Hyundai has recently launched the new 2018 Creta in the Indian market with a starting price of Rs 9.43 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The new 2018 Hyundai Creta features an updated exterior design and comes with new features as compared to the outgoing model.

Design
The front fascia of the 2018 Hyundai Creta features an updated design with the larger cascading grille, a prominent skid plate and new fog lamp housing, The side profile of the Creta remains unchanged except for the new alloy wheels.
Similar to the side profile, the rear section of the Creta remains the same as the outgoing model. The 2018 Creta features a slightly larger skid plate, and a revamped bumper. The plastic cladding running across the body gives the Creta a rugged look.
Coming to the Honda BR-V, it is larger than the Creta and the design is in between an SUV and a crossover. The front end of the BR-V is similar to the CR-V with a chrome strip on the grille, wraparound headlights, skid plate and muscular bumper with fog lamp housings.
The side profile of the Honda BR-V is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, black plastic body cladding running across the body and character lines. The rear of the BR-V features a C-shaped split tail light cluster which runs across the tailgate, a chrome strip above the registration plate and body cladding on the bumper.

Engine Specifications, Gearbox And Mileage
The Hyundai Creta draws power from the existing 1.4-litre diesel, 1.6-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engine. The 1.4-litre diesel engine produces 88.7bhp, the 1.6-litre petrol unit is a for 121bhp and the 1.6-litre diesel engine churns out 126bhp.
The 1.4-litre engine gets a 6-speed manual gearbox while both the 1.6-litre engines are mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Hyundai Creta returns a mileage between 15.80kpl to 22.10kpl.
Powering the Honda BR-V is a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 117bhp and 145Nm of torque while the diesel engine is good for 98bhp and 200Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox.
The manual petrol and diesel variant of the Honda BR-V returns a claimed mileage of 15.4kpl and 21.9kpl, respectively. The automatic petrol model delivers a mileage of 16kpl.

The Hyundai Creta features a dual-tone black and beige theme on the inside with a eat and clutter-free dashboard design. The Creta also gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel and dual-tone seats.
The interior of the Honda BR-V features an all-black theme with silver accents on the dashboard and steering wheel. Being a seven-seater, the Honda BR-V also offers more space as compared to the Hyundai Creta.

The safety features of the Hyundai Creta include dual airbags, ABS and EBD as standard across the variants. The Hyundai Creta is an elegant SUV with right proportions and loaded with features. The Honda BR-V offers a lot of space and a decent amount of features. If you are looking for a true-blue SUV with loads of features, then the Creta should be your choice. If you are looking for a spacious SUV, then the Honda BR-V will do the job for you.
