Fuel Stations Are Getting Ready To Display Three-Digit Petrol And Diesel Prices
With the rise in the petrol and diesel prices in India, the fuel stations are making sure that they are equipped to display the correct prices. ETAuto reports that the fuel stations in India are upgrading their dispensers to display three-digit fuel prices. With the rate of increase in the fuel prices, the petrol and diesel prices can soon cross the Rs 100 mark.
Majority of fuel stations in India have old dispensers that are unable to display three-digit prices and this will be a problem if the petrol and diesel prices go above Rs 99.99/litre. So, the fuel stations are getting ready to cope with the situation if the fuel prices reach Rs 100/litre.
Check Petrol Price|Check Diesel Price
The petrol and diesel prices have reached an all-time high in several cities and the petrol price has already crossed the Rs 90 mark in some cities. But the oil companies do not expect the petrol price to reach the three-digit mark anytime soon.
The oil companies have not revealed how they will upgrade the fuel dispensers, but we expect them to replace the old dispensers with the new one. Currently, all the fuel dispensers are connected to a central server and the daily price revisions are updated accordingly.
The main reason for the rise in fuel prices is the high demand for crude oil. The fall in the value of rupee against the US dollar has also affected the petrol and diesel prices in the country. Currently, a litre of petrol in Mumbai costs Rs 90.35/litre and the diesel is priced at Rs 78.82/litre.
Thoughts On The Fuel Price Hike
The fuel prices in India reached a new high in several cities and there is no respite for the consumer as the prices are increasing day-by-day. Now, the fuel stations are getting ready to display three-digit prices as the petrol price might reach Rs 100 mark if the prices continue to increase. We expect the government to take necessary steps to bring down the fuel prices in the country.
