Force Motors Bags An Order From The Indian Army — To Supply Light Strike Vehicles
Force Motors has bagged the prestigious order for the supply of Light Strike Vehicles to the Indian Army. The vehicles are indigenously developed and built by the Force Motors' research and development team. The company states that the vehicles will feature higher speed and reliability.
Force Motors states that the Light Strike Vehicles use proven, rugged and reliable components like engine and transmissions. The vehicles are also upgraded for the demanding applications of the Indian Army.
The Light Strike Vehicles from Force Motors are designed for quick ingress and egress and the vehicles are capable of performing in extreme terrain. The vehicles also have high speed and stability, manoeuvrability, 4x4 configuration and differential locks on all wheels similar to Force Gurkha.
The Force Light Strike Vehicles will be equipped with run-flat tyres and has the provision to mount a rocket launcher and machine guns. The vehicles can be airlifted and dropped into enemy territory and can be used as an advance fast strike vehicle.
Apart from the Light Strike Vehicles, Force Motors had also supplied new engines for the Indian Artillery, for the famous 155mm Howitzer Guns (Bofors Guns). Trials are on for the newly developed Force engines for the new-gen Dhanush Gun which is expected to be the successor of the Bofors Guns.
A spokesperson from Force Motors said, "We are very happy that the Indian Army has reposed trust in the fully indigenous Light Strike Vehicle developed by our research and development team. This is a small but significant step in creating fully indigenous specialist vehicles for the Armed Forces - a truly ‘Make in India' initiative."
Thoughts On Force Motors Winning An Order From The Indian Army
In 2017, Tata Motors had bagged an order to supply modified Safari Storme to the Indian Army. Now, Force Motors has also won an order to supply Light Strike Vehicles. It is good to know that the Indian Army is utilising the India-made vehicles for special operations. The Force Light Strike Vehicles are said to be agile and perform in extreme conditions.
