Bentley Bentayga V8 Petrol Revealed
British luxury carmaker Bentley has revealed the all-new Bentayga V8 petrol. The new V8 petrol variant sits in the middle of the Bentayga range and features the world's largest front brakes.
British luxury carmaker Bentley has revealed the all-new Bentayga V8 petrol. The new V8 petrol Bentley Bentayga will go on sale in March in the United Kingdom where it will command a price tag of £136,200 (Rs 1.18 crore).
The new Bentayga V8 petrol sits in the middle of the Bentley SUV's range between the less powerful V8 diesel and the massive 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12. The Bentley Bentayga is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine also seen on the new Lamborghini Urus that was recently launched in India.

The Bentley Bentayga's turbocharged V8 sends 542bhp and 770Nm of torque to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Bentayga V8 petrol sprints from 0-100kph in just 4.5 seconds and the Bentley SUV continues to accelerate till it tops out at 290kph. The Bentley Bentayga V8 petrol's performance is especially astounding considering it weighs in at nearly 2.4 tonnes.
The new V8 petrol engine is more frugal compared to its W12 sibling. Helping the Bentley stay frugal with fuel is the fact that cylinder deactivation tech allows the newest Bentley's powerplant to shut off half its cylinders.
Bentayga V8 owners can also choose optional carbon-ceramic brakes. The optional front ceramic brakes are the largest ones fitted to a production car in the form of 440mm discs featuring 10-piston callipers. The rear brakes measure in at a smaller 370mm.
The regular steel front brakes are 40mm smaller. The callipers for the regular steel brake are painted in using a high-temperature resistant Tornado red paint.
The brakes sit behind 21-inch wheels though customers can opt for smaller 20-inchers or the all-new 22-inch five-spoke alloys which get a black painted and polished finish. Other distinct V8 petrol Bentayga variant design features include a blacked-out grille and twin-tailpipes shaped in the form of an 8 on either side of the rear bumper.
Inside, the new Bentayga V8 gets a leather and wood steering wheel. Customers can also opt for a gloss carbon finish for the first time which replaces traditional veneer surfaces. The Bentayga V8 is also available with a new leather colour - Cricket Ball - inspired by the traditional deep chestnut hue of the ball used in Test match cricket.
