Auto Expo 2018: Honda To Showcase Civic Sedan And CR-V SUV

Japanese automaker Honda is all geared up for the Auto Expo 2018 to showcase new products for the Indian market. Autocar India reports that the company will unveil two all-new models at the biggest auto show in the country, and both the products will be launched in India.
Honda will showcase the tenth-generation Civic sedan and seven-seater CR-V SUV at the 2018 Auto Expo. Both these models are part of Honda's strategy to launch six new products in the Indian market by 2020. Along with the Amaze compact sedan, Honda will also launch the CR-V in India in 2018.
The prominent highlight of the Honda CR-V is that it will be offered with a third-row seat and can accommodate seven people. The new CR-V will also be available in a diesel engine for the very first time. Both these features are new to the CR-V moniker, and it will play a vital role in the success of the SUV in the Indian market.

The new Honda CR-V will draw power from the 1.6-litre diesel engine from Honda's Earth Dreams series producing 160bhp and 350Nm of torque. Honda will also manufacture the engine in India to keep the costs low as the same engine will be employed in the Civic.
Apart from the CR-V, Honda will also showcase the tenth-gen Civic sedan, and the facelifted avatar of the Civic will be launched in the country in 2019, which is yet to make its public debut. The new Civic will feature sporty design and will certainly attract performance car enthusiasts in the country.
The notable highlight of the new Civic is the faux notchback styling at the rear. The interior of the Civic will receive a makeover and will get additional premium features. The Civic will be offered in both diesel and petrol engine options. The diesel unit is the same 1.6-litre engine of the CR-V SUV.
The petrol version of the Civic will draw power from the 1.8-litre naturally aspirated VTEC engine producing around 140bhp. The petrol engine is expected to be coupled to a manual or automatic gearbox. The new Civic will be launched in the Indian market in 2019.

Honda is all set with its new model lineup for the Auto Expo 2018 and will reveal the all-new Amaze, Civic and CR-V SUV. The Amaze and CR-V will be launched in 2018, whereas the Civic facelift will hit the Indian shores in 2019. Honda aims to launch at least six new products in the country by 2020 which might also include hybrid vehicles.
