The Rapide and the Rapide S are the only sedans sold by Aston Martin; of which the former is not on sale anymore in India. A more exclusive Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf is available in select markets and fewer numbers. The Rapide performs just like any other Aston Martin supercar, but with the added convenience of four seats.
The Aston Martin Rapide is powered by a 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12, producing 470bhp and 600Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic gearbox sends all the power to the rear wheels.
The Aston Martin Rapide can hit 100km/h from a standstill in around 5.1 seconds. Top speed is rated at 303km/h.
While the more powerful Rapide S is listed for sale on Aston Martin India's website, the regular Rapide is not in production now. The fast saloon cost Rs 3.99 crore ex-showroom (Delhi), when it was launched.
Thoughts On The Aston Martin Rapide Crash In Mumbai
Most parts of India, to be frank, are not so suitable for high-end performance cars. The low ground clearance of such cars is a curse on most Indian roads. Along with this, a lot of places have careless road-users following the traffic without any discipline. In this case, we are left to hope that it wasn't anyone's fault, but was just an ‘accident'.
