Renault Captur unveiled in India. The new Renault Captur can be booked for an initial amount of Rs 25,000 from September 22, 2017, through Renault Captur App and Renault India Website.
The Renault Captur is built on the successful BO platform that underpins the Duster SUV and the Lodgy MPV. Renault says that the Captur is designed and developed by Renault India and global teams to suit the Indian market.
Production of the Renault Captur has begun, and India launch of the Captur is expected to be in October 2017 ahead of the festive season.
Renault Captur Design & Features
Using Renault's global design language, the Captur is conceived as a crossover and is positioned as a premium offering from the carmaker. Hence, there is no base variant of the Renault Captur for the Indian market unlike the Brazilian or the Russian version where the crossover retails with 'Kaptur' moniker.
The Captur measures 4329mm in length, 1813mm in width and 1619mm in height. The Captur is slightly longer than the Duster while being slimmer and shorter. The wheelbase of the Captur measures 2673mm similar to the Duster, while the ground clearance stands at class-leading 210mm.

Inside the Renault Captur, the interior is all-new and receives an upmarket look. The cabin is finished in a dual-tone black and white colour theme with the centre console hosting a touchscreen infotainment system with gloss black inserts surrounding it.
The twin-pod instrument cluster is particularly different, housing a digital infotainment display. The top variants of the Renault Captur will also get gold and white inserts in the cabin. Renault India says there will be a host of customisation options for customers to choose from.
The Renault Captur comes with features like a smart access card and engine start button. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system features radio and Bluetooth technology, voice recognition (for iOS), maps along with temperature and time display.
Additionally, auto climate control with surround illumination and rear cooling vents feature in the new Captur. The range-topping Renault Captur called Platine will include features like LED headlamps with daytime running lamps and Audi-like dynamic turn indicators and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Renault Captur Safety
The Renault Captur is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Brake Assist (BA). The carmaker says the Captur is also certified for offset frontal and lateral crash.
There is also cruise control to help maintain a pre-selected speed without acceleration and a Speed Limiter. It will also have two lateral ISOFIX fixtures with top-tether in the rear seat for enhanced child safety.
Renault Captur Engine Specifications & Gearbox
Renault Captur is available in both petrol and diesel models. For the petrol option, powering the Captur is the 16-valves four-cylinders 1.5-litre H4K engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol unit churns out 105bhp and 142Nm of torque.
