New SsangYong Rexton Revealed Ahead Of Global Debut
SsangYong has confirmed that its new flagship SUV will be named Rexton, and has revealed the SUV in few pictures.
SsangYong, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra, has unveiled the new Rexton SUV ahead of its debut at the 2017 Seoul Motor Show.
The new SUV will continue the Rexton name globally - but will be called G4 Rexton in Korea - and will be available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The new Rexton receives a much more modern look, with a large, wide grille and detailed front fog lights and big headlights.
There's no rear profile shot yet, but expect it to follow suit with a much-improved design over the previous car.
As for the interiors, the dashboard has been updated along with the latest in-car tech such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto displayed on a 9.2-inch screen touchscreen. Additionally, there's the '3D Around View Monitoring' to help with parking.
SsangYong says it will have a balanced weight distribution and towing capabilities along with improved refinement over the outgoing model.
The new Rexton is 4850mm long, 1920mm wide, 1800mm high and gets a 2864mm wheelbase. The new Reston will lock horns Hyundai Santa Fe in the large SUV market, and those measurements reveal the Ssangyong is larger than its Hyundai rival.
The new SsangYong Rexton SUV will come with the option of a new 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol engines and features such as lane departure warning and autonomous braking will be part of the new SUV.
