Maserati Reveals Updated And Refreshed GranTurismo
The facelifted Maserati GranTurismo range is now just two models powerful, but both receive the larger 4.7-litre V8 engine.
The Maserati GranTurismo has been facelifted revealing a refreshed and restyled car. The GranTurismo facelift receives subtle new look inside and out, along with new cabin technology.
The company has changed the range too, losing the regular 4.2-litre GranTurismo model so that the line-up now includes just the MC Stradale and Sport versions.
Both the models are powered with a 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8, producing 454bhp and peak torque of 520Nm. The motor is coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels.
With the new powertrain, the 2018 Maserati GranTurismo can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 300km/h for the Sport version, with the lighter MC Stradale doing 0 to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds and surging onwards to a 301km/h top speed.
Talking about the facelift, the new Maserati GranTurismo gains a new 'sharknose' style hexagonal grille somewhat inspired by the all-electric Alfieri concept revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014.
The position of the air-dams now sits lower on the front apron, looking more aggressive and reducing drag. At the rear, the bumper receives similar treatment, profiting from a fresh redesign that Maserati claims are more aerodynamically efficient.
Inside the cabin, Maserati has introduced a new infotainment system featuring a new 8.4-inch touchscreen display, which is offered alongside a new Harman Kardon sound system. The system now supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The centre console has been slightly redesigned with new switchgear. The driving mode buttons now sit lower on the console, nearer the gear lever.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The 2018 Maserati GranTurismo is now sharper and more aggressive than the previous model. Along with upgrades on the interiors, the facelifted Maserati GranTurismo has come of age, not that the previous model was significant.
