Tata Motors' Jaguar Land Rover To Recruit 5,000 Employees
Jaguar Land Rover, sustained by demand in China and North America, is working with Gorillaz to recruit engineers via the virtual band’s app.
Tata Motors' subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), has revealed that they will hire 5,000 staffs over the course of one year.
Of these 1,000 will be electronic and software engineers while balance 4,000 will be engineers who will be taken on for manufacturing operations. Buoyed by the solid demand from China and North America, JLR is looking to increase its workforce in Britain.
JLR will collaborate with Gorillaz via the brand's app. The process of recruitment will be over the course of one year coinciding with the UK in talks to leave the European Union.
To attract talented candidates in the field of software and electronics, JLR and rock band Gorillaz have developed an app that includes a code breaking challenge.
Candidates who can crack this code will be fast tracked to the recruitment process. The applicants will have challenges via the app such as assembly of Jaguar I-PACE Concept, the company’s first all-electric five-seater sports car.
The increase in workforce recruitment is in line with the company's target to raise the number of cars manufactured in the UK from 544,000 in the past year to 1 million by 2020.
DriveSpark Thinks!
JLR's next big launch is the all-electric Jaguar I-Pace and with the momentum enjoyed by electric cars in the auto industry, the recruit will indeed add some strength to its manufacturing plant and help achieve output.
