Isuzu Car Prices Increase After GST Revision On Cess
Isuzu has increased the prices of its MU-X SUV and D-Cross V-Cross pickup after GST revision.
The Government of India implemented the Goods and Service Tax (GST) from July 1, 2017, and automobiles were categorized with the highest GST slab as they fell under the luxury product.
However, there were certain anomalies in the GST Cess which led to a reduction in prices of mid-sized and luxury cars as well as SUVs. To correct the defect, the GST Council has revised the GST Cess and was fixed from 2 to 7 percent depending on the body style of the vehicle.
Isuzu Motors India has announced the GST pricing of its vehicle including the MU-X SUV and the D-Max V-Cross pickup truck post-GST revision effective immediately. The Isuzu MU-X price has been revised to Rs 23.47 lakh (4x2 variant), while that of the 4x4 variant pricing has been revised to Rs 25.43 lakh ex-showroom (Chennai).
India's first Adventure Utility Vehicle, the D-Max V-Cross' pricing has been revised to 13.11 lakh ex-showroom (Chennai). While prices of Isuzu cars have been increased across India, prices in Andhra Pradesh have witnessed a reduction.
Isuzu had announced earlier that vehicles which are sold and purchased in the state of Andhra Pradesh are exempted from Motor Vehicle Tax till March 31, 2021.

DriveSpark Thinks!
The prices of Isuzu cars in India after GST had to be increased with the news GST Cess slabs for vehicles above 4-metres. While the prices might reflect an increase, the change is not significant on the Isuzu vehicles.
