Rumour: Hyundai Santa Fe Discontinued In India
Hyundai has reportedly discontinued the Santa Fe SUV in India.
South Korean automaker Hyundai introduced the Santa Fe SUV in the country at the 2014 Auto Expo, and the updated model was also launched in 2015.
Now, TeamBHP reports that Hyundai has discontinued the Santa Fe in the Indian market. The seven-seater SUV is also missing on the official Hyundai India website.
A Hyundai dealership has also confirmed the development, but another dealer has stated that the Santa Fe will be available only on a made-to-order basis. The reason behind discontinuing the SUV is its dwindling sales in the country.
Hyundai managed to retails only 14 units of Santa Fe in July and to make things worst only one unit of the SUV was sold in August 2017. In the past six months, Hyundai sold just 67 units of its flagship SUV.

Hyundai's rival companies such as Toyota retailed 2,116 units of Fortuner and Ford managed to sell 1,163 units of Endeavour in August 2017. Hyundai was offering the Santa Fe in three variants - 2WD, 2WD AT and 4WD AT.
The Santa Fe was powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine with an e-variable geometry turbocharger producing 194bhp and 421Nm of torque. The 2WD (two-wheel-drive) variant was offered with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The 4WD (four-wheel-drive) was only available with the 6-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai has finally pulled down the Santa Fe in India due to its poor sales. When compared to its rival SUVs, the Santa Fe failed to attract the Indian buyers in the premium SUV segment. Hyundai might introduce a new product to replace the SUV in India which is likely to be the new Kona.
