Formula E: Brazilian Lucas Di Grassi Wins Season 3
Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport driver Di Grassi became the 2017 Formula E champion.
Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport driver Lucas di Grassi became the third different Formula E champion in three years of its existence. The ex-Formula One driver finished seventh for Audi Sport in the Montreal ePrix which was won by Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne.
Lucas di Grassi finished the season with 181 points, defending champion Sebastien Buemi, who was 10 points clear heading into the race had a nightmare weekend was runner-up with 157 points.
Buemi was disqualified from race one on Saturday for an underweight car. He was then caught in a first corner collision on Sunday before finishing 13th in the race.
However, Buemi's team Renault eDams won the team title for the third time in a row with 268 points. Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport finished runner-up with 248 points. Mahindra Racing finished third with 190 points.
Vergne took his first ever victory in the all-electric racing series. Mahindra Racing driver Felix Rosenqvist initially led the race. But he used more energy to do that which forced him to pit early. This handed over the victory to Vergne.
Rosenqvist finished the race in second place and third in the driver's title. DS Virgin Racing driver Sam Bird finished fourth in the championship. Vergne ended the third season of the Formula E in fifth place.

Formula E has witnessed three different champions in the past three years. Sebastien Buemi had a horrible weekend, and he was unable to challenge for the title. Mahindra Racing was impressive in the second half of the season and finished in the runner-up spot in the team standings.
