Fiat Chrysler Issues A Massive Recall Over Airbag Issue
American automaker Fiat Chrysler NV has issued a massive recall due to a faulty driver side airbag.
American automaker Fiat Chrysler NV has issued a massive recall due to an issue in the airbags of the vehicle.
Fiat Chrysler NV has recalled 2,97,000 minivans due to a wiring problem which will lead the airbag to deploy at any moment. The company has recalled Dodge Grand Caravan minivans produced between 2001-2012.
13 minor injuries have been reported due to the inadvertent airbag deployments. The wiring may short circuit which deploys the driver side airbag without any warning.
The recall will commence from late July which includes 2,09,000 vehicles sold in the United States and 88,000 vehicles from Canada. The dealers will replace the faulty wiring if required and the outer covering.
DriveSpark Thinks!
Airbags are the most critical safety equipment in a vehicle. It is good to know that no major incidents happened because of the faulty airbags. But the manufacturers should avoid such mishaps by focusing on the important safety features.
