Hennessey's Answer To The Dodge Demon With The Camaro 'The Exorcist.'
Unless the Camaro ZL1 The Exorcist has almost zero power loss, it's churning out more than 1,000 ponies at the crank.
Hennessey Performance's new 1,000 horsepower Chevy Camaro ZL1 known as "The Exorcist" is designed to gain the attention being drawn by the Dodge Demon.
The Exorcist begins life as a normal 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Hennessey cranks it way past 11psi to push the supercharged 6.2-litre LT4 V-8 out to 1,000 hp and 1350Nm of torque. All this comes from the larger, higher flowing supercharger and intercooler system, which is tuned in to develop 14 psi of boost pressure.
The towering power figure is also supported by ported factory cylinder heads, a camshaft upgrade, a high-flow air induction system, long tube stainless steel headers, and custom engine management calibration from HPE.
Hennessey says 0-100km/h sprint comes in fewer than three seconds. Hennessey will provide two different takes on The Exorcist Camaro ZL1, both of which require additional payment on top of the $55,000 base package price (in addition to the $62,135 for a ZL1 Camaro).
There is also an optional drag pack which includes a couple of 20-inch wheels with 315/30R20 Nitto drag radial tyres, a driveshaft upgrade, a floor jack, and tool kit.
For those who plan to get brutish on a road course, Hennessey will offer a road race pack which includes a set of 20-inch lightweight Hennessey wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. Also, 10-speed automatic equipped cars will require an upgraded transmission.
Hennessey plans to produce just 100 units of The Exorcist per year.
