Bosch Buys Italian Company That Specialises In BMW Parts
Bosch buys Albertini Cesare, a company that makes BMW parts that lead the carmaker to halt production.
German automotive parts manufacturer Bosch has bought Italian subcontractor Albertini Cesare, a company that specialises in manufacturing aluminium casings for steering components for BMW.
The Italian company, Albertini Cesare, was responsible for BMW to halt production earlier this week.
A Spokeswoman for Bosch said that the Italian company was a family owned business that had 350 employees. She said, "The sales process has been initiated but not yet completed."
"For us, it is important to secure a reliable supply of components with this takeover." Bosch did not reveal the value of the transaction.
Earlier this week, BMW said that a shortage of steering components from Bosch delayed the production of cars of several compact and midsize cars.
The issue also made BMW stop production in its plants in China and South Africa. The production issue with BMW is now resolved.
