The new Land Rover Discovery Sport is offered with a single diesel engine which is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.

The 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 147bhp and 382Nm of torque when propelling the Pure, SE, and HSE models of the SUV. Under the bonnet of the 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE Luxury variant, the turbo diesel engine churns out 177bhp and 430Nm of torque.

Land Rover has added a host of features including theInControl - Pro Services which help enhance the infotainment capabilities of the SUV. One of these features includes the Route planner which through a downloadable app provides navigation services and syncs routes with the vehicle's satnav system.

Also new is the 'Commute Mode' feature which sees the new Discovery Sport learn a frequently used route. Once the road has been learnt, the SUV displays diversions if there are any delays on said route. Another new feature is Sharing ETA, which allows owners to SMS contacts their estimated time of arrival.

Land Rover has also equipped the 2018 Discovery Sport with a Wi-FI hotspot. With the aid of an owner-provided SIM card, the new Discovery Spot can activate a hotspot which can be used by up to 8 users at a time.
