US Air Force Replicates Fast & Furious Stunt; Drop Humvees From A Plane
The High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), or the Humvee as it is more popularly known, has been the main transport vehicle for soldiers in the American armed forces since it was introduced in 1984.
The popularity of the Humvee even led to a civilian version of the car called the Hummer, which was in production from 1992 till the Hummer brand was shut down by GM in 2010.
However, the Humvee is still used by the military, and there are times that the madcap military vehicles need to be sent to troops in an active war zone.
To ensure that soldiers don't have to drive the vehicles through enemy territory, the US Air Force usually air drops the vehicles into the area where they are needed the most.
To ensure that the drops are perfect, the US Air Force regularly practices, which is what is seen in the video above. However, they don't always get it right, something we saw a few months ago in a training exercise.
