Tata Tiago Is The Most Sought After Tata Car; Waiting Period On The Rise!
Tata Motors is getting an overwhelming response for the Tiago. The company is reporting that the Tiago has registered over 40,000 bookings within the first four months, since market launch.
The Tiago now commands a waiting period of three months, depending on the city. In July, Tata Motors sold 5,114 units of Tiago, making it the first model to record monthly sales of 4,000 units in the past two years. The total contribution of the Tiago is at 35 percent of the total sales of the company.
The majority of the bookings are for the Tiago 1.2-litre, 84bhp petrol engine; prices for the petrol model start at Rs 3.20 lakh ex-showroom. The Tiago is also available in a 1.05-litre, 69bhp diesel variant.
Mr S N Burman, VP sales, passenger vehicles commented on the sales growth. He said the Tiago and Zest currently drive the company's growth. And compared to the industry growth of 7 per cent, Tata Motors has registered a 32 percent growth in sales in July year-on-year.
