Ford Mustang (395bhp) Launched In India For A "Shocking!" Price
American carmaker Ford has launched the iconic Mustang muscle car in India. The Ford Mustang GT is priced at Rs. 65 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
This is the first time that Ford has brought the Mustang into India and it comes 52 years after the car was first launched in the United States.
Ford Mustang GT Specifications
- Engine - 5.0-litre V8
- Power - 395.5bhp
- Torque - 515Nm
- Gearbox - 6-speed automatic
- 0–100km/h - 4.8 seconds
- Top Speed - 250km/h.
Ford Mustang GT Design
The Ford Mustang features a long bonnet at the front of which sits sharp, angular headlamps that flank the trapezoidal grille which holds the iconic Mustang badge. Also up front is the shark-bite front bumper.
The roof of the car slopes down into the boot of the car. The rear end of the car plays host to the Mustang's tri-bar taillamps while the two exhaust tips flank the diffuser element of the rear bumper.
Ford Mustang GT Features
The Mustang is loaded with a whole host of features including HID headlamps, LED tail lamps, sequential turn signals, dual exhaust pipes, leather upholstery, steering mounted controls, auto dimming rear view mirror, 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, and a push button start. Also present is a 9-speaker audio setup.
However, the most important feature, at least for those looking for a bit of muscle car fun is the 'Electronic Line-Lock' feature. This engages the front brakes and releases the rear brake, which helps the driver spin the rear wheels for 15 seconds for the perfect hoonigan burnout.
Ford has also added four driving modes to give drivers the confidence to deal with the 'Pony Car'. The driving modes are Normal, Wet/ Snow, Sport, and Track.
Safety features include 8 airbags in total, including dual airbags in the front with knee and curtain airbags, along with an individual tyre pressure monitoring system and automatic headlamps and wipers.
The Mustang is available in six colour options — Absolute Black, Ingot Silver, Oxford White, Triple Yellow Tricoat, Magnetic and the signature Race Red.
