Datsun GO Gets 2-Star Rating In ASEAN NCAP Test

The Datsun Go has been awarded 2-stars for safety by the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) after a series of crash tests.

These crash tests were performed on the Datsun Go model sold in Indonesia. These models are equipped with a driver's side airbag.

While tests were performed, the GO hatchback scored 6.82 points for adult safety, which earned it 2-stars, and in terms of child protection, the GO was awarded 2-stars again, since it had 46 percent compliance.

The Datsun hatchback failed the side impact test performed by ASEAN NCAP.

A while ago, when the Datsun GO India model was tested by Global NCAP, it failed miserably, due to lack of airbags and structural strength of the car. The car was so dangerous during an accident that the company was requested to withdraw the model from the Indian market, but sales continued.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift was also tested along with the GO, failed again, since airbags are not a standard feature.
