Tata Zest Launched In Bangalore
Tata Motors has launched their new compact sedan, the Zest in Bangalore today, costing INR 4.69 lakhs for the base petrol variant and INR 5.73 lakhs for the base diesel variant.
Tata has two engine options for the new Zest, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel engine. The company offers four different trims of the petrol variant and five trims of the diesel variant and is also available in six different colours.
Tata Zest boasts 29 features which Tata claim as the firsts in its segment, including three driving modes, ECO, SPORT and CITY in the high end petrol version and an Automated Manual Transmission in the high end diesel variant.
The 1.2-litre, Revotron petrol engine produces 90 PS of power at 5000 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 140 Nm at 1750 to 3500 rpm. This engine gives a fuel economy of 17.6 kpl, as per ARAI standards and does a top speed of 154 km/h.

The 1.3-litre diesel engine on the other hand is sourced from Fiat, which delivers 90 PS at 4000 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1750 to 3000 rpm. This engine will deliver a fuel economy of 23 kpl as per ARAI standards and has a top speed of 158 km/h.
With regards to safety, the Zest comes equipped with dual front airbags, for the driver and passenger, ABS, EBD and rear Park Assist for easy reversing.
