Hyundai Verna GL Variant Launched In India
Hyundai recently launched their new sedan the Xcent. They now have secretly launched a GL variant of their Verna both in petrol and diesel options.
The GL variant Verna will be a base variant in their product line-up. The C-segment car will sport a 1.4 litre VTVT petrol engine as well as a 1.4 litre CRDI diesel engine.
Hyundai will sell their base variant GL Verna at a price of Rs. 7.17 lakhs for the petrol, while the diesel option will cost Rs. 8.35 lakhs. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Hyundai Verna GL will deliver 105 BHP of power along with 138 Nm of torque from the 1.4 litre VTVT petrol engine and will be mated to a five speed gearbox.
The Korean car manufacture will produce 89 BHP and 224 Nm of peak torque from the 1.4 litre CRDI diesel engine with a six speed gearbox.
The GL will lose a lot of features to cut costs. However, it will feature keyless entry and a 2-din audio system along with some basic additions.
The GL variant replaces the earlier EX variant. Hyundai has discontinued 3 petrol and diesel Verna's from their portfolio.
The Korean manufacturer has stopped producing its 1.6 SX (O) automatic. They have also phased out their 1.6 litre EX petrol option and the 1.6 CRDI automatic variant.
