Honda Amaze Diesel To Take On Swift Dzire
Honda Car India has some aggressive marketing strategies planned to make a successful comeback in the country. The automaker's plans are already reflected in the way in which it has cut down on prices of many of its existing models, including on the Honda CR-V SUV and earlier, on the Jazz hatchback.

When launched later this year, Honda aims to pit it against Maruti Suzuki's Swift Dzire, the current segment leader. However, when the time comes to take on the Swift Dzire and beat it, everything will come down to how aggressively Honda will manage to price Amaze, since Dzire sells for as low as INR 4.92 lakhs.
"Honda needs to pull up its act. While there isn't much to cheer about, the Amaze should be the booster shot it desperately needs to get back into the reckoning," says Deepesh Rathore, India MD for IHS Automotive in New Delhi, as quoted by ET.
However, it will not just be Swift Dzire that Honda will have to worry about when the Amaze launches. Since its initial announcement, diesel prices in India have steadily gone up and will continue to do so for some time. By the time Amaze hits the market Honda will also have to worry about how to push a diesel car when all of a sudden petrol cars will start to seem like a better option.
Honda hopes to sell 500,000 Amaze compact sedans and to keep manufacturing price down it plans to manufacture engine components and body shell for the Amaze in its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, while its Greater Noida plant will handle the remaining part of manufacturing and assembly.
