The MG Hector Plus is the extended six/seven-seater version of the brand’s standard Hector SUV in the Indian market. The MG Hector Plus carries forward the same design and styling as its five-seater sibling, although there are a few subtle changes, which help differentiate between the two.
The MG Hector Plus comes with a revised set of LED units for the headlamp and DRLs, a shark fin antenna, silver roof rails, heavily updated LED tail lights, new rear bumper, silver roof rails and a new skid plate as well.
MG Motor has also managed to remove any and all excessive chrome all around the SUV, which does give it a more mature look as well. This includes the front grille, which now receives an all-black treatment.
However, the overall silhouette of the MG Hector Plus remains the same. The Hector Plus even carries forward the 17-inch alloy wheels with the same design as well.
The MG Hector Plus also features an exclusive paint scheme, called Starry Sky Blue shade. This further helps differentiate between the two siblings. Other differences also include the additional 65mm length, which helps the Hector Plus accommodate the third-row of seats.
Inside, the MG Hector Plus continues to carry forward a similar look as its five-seater sibling. The dashboard comes with a mix of soft-touch material and leather-wrapped upholstery, matching the new Sepia Brown of the seats. The cabin also features individual captain seats at the back, while the bench seats in the third row come with a 50:50 split, to improve luggage space whenever required.
Under the bonnet of the MG Hector Plus are the same two engines on offer. This includes a 1.5-litre turbo petrol producing 140bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. The engine also comes mated to a mild 48V hybrid system.
There is also a 2.0-litre diesel engine on offer, churning 172bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. Both engines come mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox, with the petrol unit receiving the optional seven-speed DCT as well.
The MG Hector Plus comes with a fuel tank capacity of 60-litres. Fuel efficiency figures on the MG Hector Plus vary between 13km/l to 17km/l for both the petrol and diesel powered variants. This ensures the Hector Plus offers an impressive range of around 900km on a single tank of fuel.
The MG Hector Plus comes with a host of features and equipment across all its four variants on offer. Some of these include LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lights, panoramic sunroof, electronically adjustable & foldable ORVMs with integrated turn signal, fog lamps, keyless entry, instrument cluster with large MID, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and i-Smart Connected technology, automatic climate control, wireless charging and many more.
In terms of safety, the MG Hector Plus features multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt pretensioners, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, brake assist, cruise control, traction control and many more.
The MG Hector Plus is essentially a six-seater version of its standard Hector sibling. While the Hector Plus does come with a striking design, plenty of features inside, connected technology, premium individual captain seats and other comfort and convenience options, it isn’t much different from the five-seater version, with the third-row of seats only practical for children.
The MG Hector Plus comes in four variants: Style, Super, Smart & Sharp.
The MG Hector Plus comes in a range of paint schemes including Candy white, Glaze Red, Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Burgundy Red & Starry Sky Blue.
The individual captain seats in the second row.
The MG Hector Plus rivals the likes of the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Tata Gravitas.
The MG Hector Plus comes with a seating capacity for 6 people.
