The Mahindra XEV 9e is a head-turning SUV coupe with a design that looks like a concept car come to life. The front end is dominated by a blocked-off grille section with a lightbar connecting the inverted L-shaped DRLs. The lower section of the front bumper is finished in black and stretches across the sides and wheel arches. The XEV 9e sports a long, flowing coupe-like roof, flush door handles, sculpted sides, and rides on 19-inch aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels (owners can opt for 20-inch wheels). At the rear, the sloping roof melds into the boot lid, which sports a small spoiler element. Underneath the spoiler sits the slimline connected LED taillights that mimic the shape of the DRL setup at the front. There is another small spoiler element above the rear glass hosting the third brake light. The boot lid opens to reveal a large 663-liter boot, and there's a 150-liter frunk for even more storage space. Inside, the XEV 9e's cabin is familiar yet enhanced. The most striking feature is the triple-screen setup that stretches across the dashboard. These three 12.3-inch screens are powered by Mahindra's AdrenoX operating system and are controlled by MAIA, the firm's in-house automotive AI. The system offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as 5G connectivity. While most controls have been moved to the infotainment screen, there are a knob and buttons on the center console for climate control, audio, and drive modes.  The seats are plush and comfortable, and the powered driving seat allows you to get into the perfect driving position. The rear seats offer good headroom and legroom for three adults. There's a large sunroof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and plenty of storage space throughout the cabin. Safety features include 7 airbags, a driver alertness system, Level 2 ADAS, blind spot monitoring, auto parking, and even a Pawpal feature that keeps the cabin cool and secure for your pet.

The Mahindra XEV 9e is based on the firm's new modular INGLO skateboard platform for EVs. The XEV 9e is available with two battery pack options: a 59kWh pack offering a 542km range and a 79kWh pack delivering a claimed range of 656km (MIDC). Both packs can charge from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes when connected to a fast DC charger. The battery packs connect to a single electric motor mounted to the rear axle of the coupe SUV.  The motor produces 228bhp and 380Nm of torque when connected to the 59kWh pack. The XEV 9e's power output rises to 281.6bhp for the 79kWh model, though the torque figure remains the same. This version can sprint from 0-100km/h in a claimed 6.8 seconds.
