Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Revealed — 840 HP Dragstrip Monster

Dodge has taken the wraps off the new Challenger SRT Demon in New York. The car is revealed just hours before the 2017 New York Auto Show's press days were due to kick off.
The Challenger SRT Demon is a drag strip monster. The car recorded a time of 9.65 seconds in a quarter-mile drag strip with a top speed of 225km/h. NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) has certified the Demon as the quickest production car.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon draws power from a 6.2-litre Hemi Demon V8 engine a massive 840bhp and 1044Nm of torque. The car can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 2.3 seconds.
The Challenger SRT Demon is hot and muscular on the exterior, but it is cool under the bonnet. Thanks to the first ever liquid-to-air charge air cooler system, dropping intake temperature by 45 degrees.
Apart from that, the car is equipped with the updated rear gearing setup to improve torque.The car also gets the largest cool-air intake o a production car, a 2.7-litre supercharger. The system can switch between racing fuel and conventional fuel pump.
Few other key features of the Challenger SRT Demon are, the passenger and rear seats can be removed, and the front suspension is loosened to shift the weight of the car to the rear quickly. For the first time, the traditional drag racing technology has been applied to a production car.
