British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has revealed the 2018 Tiger 800 range of motorcycles. The 2018 Triumph Tiger gets a host of changes both mechanical and cosmetic.
The new Tiger 800 is available in two different models - XR for road use and XC for off-road use - and a total of six different variants. The road-going tiger features 4 different versions - the XR, XRX and XRt along with a low-seat XRx model which lowers the seat height by 50mm. The off-roading XC comes in two variants — XCx and XCA.
In terms of design, the new Triumph Tiger 800 quite a few cosmetic tweaks including full LED head and tail lights, a five-position adjustable windscreen with aerodynamic diffusers, new graphics and a new badge with the British manufacturer's new logo and new side panels.
Triumph claims that the new Tiger 800 features more than 200 engine and chassis modifications. The new Tiger 800's engine is more responsive than ever and the new lighter exhaust system gives the 800 a more aggressive soundtrack.
Triumph has also revised the gearshifts and the first gear is now shorter to improve traction and acceleration off-road. While the engine's power output remains unchanged at 93.7bhp, Triumph has added an Off-Road Pro driving mode to the XC range, which allows experienced drivers to disable all the electronic nannies.
Other changes on the new Triumph Tiger 800 include handlebars that have been set back by 10mm, the suspension geometry has been tweaked, and there are a new set of Brembo disc brakes. Triumph has also added a brand new 5-inch backlit display for the instrumentation.
Features on the new Triumph Tiger 800 that have been carried over from the previous bike include ABS, traction control, ride-by-wire throttle, cruise control, heated seats, auxiliary power sockets and adjustable saddles.
