EICMA 2017: 2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 Revealed
EICMA 2017: 2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 revealed. The new Tiger 1200 is 10 kilos lighter and adds a host of new features and a revised engine.
British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has revealed the 2018 Tiger 1200 adventure tourer at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy.
The new 2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 brings with a host of both mechanical and cosmetic changes including tweaked headlights, which are now full LED units and revised graphics along with a weight loss of 11 kilograms and 100 other improvements among which is an updated triple-cylinder engine.
The new Triumph Tiger 1200 is powered by a 1.215cc triple-cylinder engine that produces 139bhp which makes it the most powerful shaft driven engine in its class. Triumph has added a new lighter exhaust system which helps enhance the Tiger 1200's triple-cylinder roar.
There are also 6 different driving modes including an off-roading Pro mode which disables all the electronic aids and allows riders to take full control of the new bike.
Other features include a revised chassis that is aided along by a semi-active WP suspension setup which is controlled by Triumph's own system. Other changes include four-piston monoblock radial Brembo callipers and an internal braking system and a full colour LCD display.
The new Triumph Tiger 1200 also gets cornering ABS and traction control along with cruise control and hill hold control. Other features include heated knobs and seats the latter of which can be lowered by 20mm in all models except for the XRx low seat model where it is lowered by 50mm.
