Speaking during the event, company Chairman and Managing Director, Venu Srinivasan revealed their plans for the near future, which includes some exciting and interesting new launches.

Following are the details.

TVS Zest scooter

Showcased first at the Auto Expo in February, the Zest is a scooter that belongs to the Scooty family, at least by way of looks. This will be made clear upon launch.

Unlike the Scooty range, the Zest will come with the same 110cc engine that powers the larger Wego and Jupiter scooters. Hence, the 109.7 cc engine will output power and torque figures in the region of 8 bhp and 8 Nm respectively.

In terms of design, the Zest is unlikely to change much from the way it looked at the Expo.

TVS Zest has been scheduled for a June launch.

Next in line will be the launch of a commuter motorcycle that will bring the ‘Victor' name back to the market. This motorcycle will be launched sometime between July and September.

Details about the new Victor are non-existent, except that it will compete in the highly competitive and high volume commuter bike segment. This category witnesses sales of about 6 lakh units every month, of which 35,000 units are TVS models.

Srinivasan believes sales volume to increase by around 50,000 units per month in the commuter segment in six months time post the launch of the new Victor model.

At present, the company has the Star City+, Sport, Phoenix 125 commuter bikes on sale.

TVS-BMW Motorrad motorcycle

The first motorcycle resulting from the partnership between TVS and BMW Motorrad will arrive in the second half of 2015, Srinivasan has confirmed. Based on a brand new platform, the new bike would come in both TVS & BMW versions.

TVS has invested INR 1.50 crore for the project, the company revealed.

Technical details about the new entry-level performance motorcycle have not been made known yet, but it is rumoured to be powered by a 300cc, single cylinder engine.
