TVS-BMW To Launch 300cc & 500cc Bikes In 2015
As per a report on ET Now, the partnership between TVS & BMW Motorrad will result in not one, but two new motorcycles next year.
It was earlier rumoured that the partnership would bring out a single-cylinder 300cc motorcycle in 2015. The latest report seemingly confirms this, while adding that the first product will be followed, in the same year, by a 500cc motorcycle.
The new motorcycles will be launched in the second half of 2015, but nothing more about the motorcycles is known yet.

The Bajaj-KTM partnerships has seen two versions of their motorcycles, one from each brand, both produced by Bajaj. However, this will most likely not be the case with TVS-BMW.
The new motorcycles are most likely going to be sold only by TVS through its existing dealerships in India. BMW Motorrad, meanwhile, will sell the same products in Europe and other markets.
It also remains to be seen whether the TVS branded units will differ from the BMW badged motorcycles in styling and performance. In case of Bajaj-KTM, the latter's products are placed as premium products compared to their Bajaj counterparts.
TVS & BMW Motorrad signed a deal last year as per which the two will share resources and technology to develop low-displacement performance motorcycles (125-500cc).
This segment of motorcycles is said to be growing at a rate of 35 percent and is already getting crowded. Even abroad, the entry level performance motorcycles have helped KTM displace BMW Motorrad as the number one brand.
The two partners are thus trying to take advantage of it, thought their entry into the segment, which is still over a year away, is already quite late. Will the new Indo-German partnership bear fruit? Only time will tell.
