Suzuki Inazuma Omitted From Official Website In India
Japanese giant Suzuki had introduced its Inazuma cruiser in India. The motorcycle was a naked bike with a parallel twin engine and was overpriced. The manufacturer has not done well in India with their two-wheelers. They showcased their Gixxer and Let's at 2014 Auto Expo, which was a hit.
Suzuki had launched the Inazuma in India for INR 3,10,000 ex-showroom. The bike was not well appreciated by customers and they dropped their price by a lakh. In the end their motorcycle was priced at INR 2,21,066 ex-showroom, Mumbai.
We now believe the Japanese manufacturer has lost hope in their project. They have removed the Inazuma from their official India website. Currently the Gixxer motorcycle has witnessed decent sales, along with their Let's scooter.
Suzuki India have not managed to sell high volumes of their Inazuma cruiser. The motorcycle is a real value for money deal, however, the design seems a little dated compared to what is on offer currently. The Inazuma is offered in India as a CKD unit and is assembled at their Gurgaon facility.
The Japanese manufacturer have provided a 248cc parallel twin engine. It produces a decent power output of 24 bhp, along with 22 Nm of peak torque. They have paired their engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. For a quarter-litre twin engine, it is downtuned and lacks grunt.
We are not sure though if Suzuki has discontinued their Inazuma motorcycle in India. Suzuki dealers are still accepting bookings of the motorcycle, so it has confused us too. It could just be a mistake and will be rectified in due course time. Or the manufacturer is thinking of eventually phasing the motorcycle off.
