MINI Unveil Their Citysurfer Concept

MINI is currently owned by German luxury automobile manufacturer BMW. The iconic British manufacturer has just launched its new 3-door and 5-door MINI in India. BMW themselves are going to launch two new products on 26th of November, 2014 in India, the M3 and M4.

Today, however, the Britain based manufacturer has showcased their two-wheeler concept to us. MINI have christened their concept as the ‘Citysurfer', which is an electric scooter. It is an ideal mobility option in the urban environment, and is an innovative concept for individual mobility.

MINI Citysurfer concept combines the agility of a kick scooter with an electric motor. It has been designed by the British brand and is a stylish product. The goal of this product is that it can be easily stored anywhere and can be used for short commutes.

There is a lithium-ion battery installed into the frame permanently, it can be recharged by a 12-volt household socket. The engineers have made charging while travelling possible, with the use of a brake energy regeneration system. MINI Citysurfer will have a decent range of 15 to 25 kilometres, depending on use.

The Citysurfer concept can achieve a top speed of 25 km/h, owing to an electric motor that powers the rear wheel. To begin the vehicle riders will have to use their own force to get it to a minimum speed, the motor deactivates itself when the brake lever is used.

MINI has designed their concept to be compact and foldable, it weighs only 18 kilograms. The British brand has attempted to make a product that can easily be stored in their 3-door vehicle. Its primary use will be transportation from vehicle to office, park and other short distances.
