Mahindra To Launch Three New Two Wheelers In 2014

Dr. Pawan Goenka, President Mahindra Two Wheelers, aims to bring the company out of its loss making ways and for that the company intends to have two to three high-volume products that sell anywhere between 30,000 to 35,000 units each month.

This could be made possible only with plenty of products and Mahindra plans to launch at least one new model or variant every quarter. The company is targeting sales of a million units, including exports.

To start with, Mahindra will launch three new models this year. This will include a motorcycle, a scooter and the premium 300cc Mojo.

Going ahead, the scooter, which will belong to the most active 110cc segment, will sprout as many as three variants. These will be priced in the range of Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000.

The only successful product from Mahindra's two wheeler stable, the Centuro's success can be credited to its premium features borrowed from Mahindra SUVs.

Going forward, the company will debut yet another variant, the fourth, to the Centuro lineup.

Speaking about the success of the Centuro, Goenka says, "It really was one of the best launches in the industry last year. And that makes us feel that in spite of so many players in the field, it is possible for us to come up with a new product that stands out," as qouted by BS.
