Kawasaki Z250 India Launch By Mid-2014
The entry level performance motorcycle segment is fast becoming as crowded as the commuter bike segment in India. Nearly half a dozen new small displacement sports bikes will be debuting in India this year and joining that list will be the Kawasaki Z250.

Kawasaki Z250 is the smaller sibling of the larger, more powerful Z800 which was launched earlier this year in the country. The Z250 looks similar to the Z800 as well, but provides an easier option to own a sharp looking Japanese naked street machine.

In terms of styling the Z250 is much like the Z800, sporting similar headlamps and profile. What differs (besides the engine of course) is the ‘Z' shaped engine cover that continues on to become the underpan. Also different is the narrow split seats which are identical to the Ninja 300.
Sitting behind the aggressively styled headlamp is a digital instrument panel with a large analogue tachometer. The digital panel provides the usual set of information. Nothing overly fancy here, but yet appealing.
Sitting snug between the legs is a 33 HP, 249cc, liquid cooled, parallel twin, fuel injected engine with dual throttle valve technology for improved fuel efficiency. The engines comes mated to a six speed gearbox.
Kawasaki Z250 gets single petal discs for both wheels, right side up front forks, rear mono shock, aided by a rectangular section swing arm.
Ten spoke alloy wheels are shod with 17 inch, 110/70 section tyres at the front, while the rear gets 140/70 section tyres.
Kawasaki is expected to launch the Z250 sometime during the middle of the year with a pricing that can expected to be under INR 2.5 lakhs.
