DSK Hyosung To Launch 150cc-200cc Bikes In India In 2016: Exclusive
DSK Hyosung has been growing fast in recent months, buoyed by the success of the GT250R, which recently received an update and the Aquila 250 cruiser.
The company has in fact performed brilliantly in the entry level performance bike segment, considering their range starts at over INR 2.5 lakhs.
The company has two exciting upcoming launches lined up which are expected to further strengthen Hyosung's presence in the country.
Hyosung GD250N
The first new model will be the GD250N street naked that will arrive during the festive season. The motorcycle has already been showcased to the public at the Auto Expo and has received favourable feedback.
This model is characterised by sharp, angular design and comes with features such as upside-down front forks, rear mono-shock and underbody exhaust.
A diamond-type tubular frame chassis holds together a 249cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder, fuel injected engine that develops 28 horsepower at 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 25 Nm at 7000 rpm.
Hyosung RT250D
The RT125D, which is a scrambler, evoked a lot a curiosity in Delhi when it was displayed at the Expo. Being a scrambler, its unique proportions may not be to everyone's liking, but riding one is an entirely different experience.
In short, this is purely a fun machine, one that can take will allow you go off the beaten path whenever you wish and have fun doing so. This is a bike that's as much at home off the road as it is on it.
While the model showcased came with a 124.5cc, 10 bhp, 10.78 Nm torque engine, the one that will be launched in India, in January 2015, will have the same 250cc Hyosung engine.
Hyosung 150cc & 200cc motorcycles in India
In the coming years we will see Hyosung grow from being a small time player to one that will compete in the high volume segment, with 150cc and 200cc models.
The company will complete construction of its second manufacturing facility towards the end of 2015. This facility will start producing the new 150cc and 200cc models from 2016, Mr. Ray revealed.
Developed specifically for India, these models will compete with the likes of Honda CBR150R, Yamaha R15 and Bajaj Pulsar 200NS.
"In the next two years we want to be the player which has the highest range of bikes in terms of models, in terms of variety in the 250cc to 700cc category," Shivapada Ray COO DSK Hyosung told DriveSpark during a recent interaction.
