Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha has taken the wraps off the new R15 Version 3.0. The company has launched the entry-level performance motorcycle in the Indonesian market. Thailand will be the second market to get the new R15.
The bookings od new R15 commenced in Indonesia from April 1, 2017. Only 155 units of the R15 V3 was up for grabs from online sales. And the Facebook update from Yamaha Indonesia reveals that the R15 V3 was sold out in mere 20 minutes.
The 155 units on sale represent the engine capacity of the motorcycle. Despite the increase in price, the Yamaha fans are deterrent to own their favourite faired motorcycle. Currently, the price of R15 V3 is highest in its segment.
The first 155 customers who booked the new R15 V3 will also get VR46 T-Shirts as a complementary gift. The new entry-level faired motorcycle from Yamaha is loaded with a host of updates.
The R15 V 3.0 is equipped with a bigger 155.1cc liquid cooled, SOHC, variable valve actuation (VVA) engine with fuel injection technology. The new engine churns out 19bhp of power and 14.7Nm of torque.
The new R15 also gets slipper clutch, which results in smoother downshifting of gears. But the motorcycle misses out on ABS. The R15 V3 is offered in three colours - Matte Black, Racing Blue and Matte Red.
The deliveries of the R15 in Indonesia will commence by the end of April. Some importers in Bangladesh are unofficially accepting bookings for the new R15 V3. But there is no word from Yamaha about the India launch of the new R15.
