Report: TVS Apache RTR Brand Will Continue

Mr Arun Siddharth, Vice President, Marketing, tvs motor Company, revealed that the TVS Apache RTR brand would continue in its own path.

tvs motor Company launched the Apache RTR brand in 2006, and there is no turning back for the brand with more than 2 million Apaches on the road.

The 'RTR' stands for 'Racing Throttle Response', and the Apache series is available as 160, 180, 180 ABS and the newly launched 200 4V for the Indian market. TVS also has a massive presence on the racing circuit.

With the Apache RTR brand, TVS Motors Company wants to continue on its own path. In a recent interview with Hindu Business Line Mr Arun Siddharth, Vice President, Marketing, TVS Motor Company, revealed that the TVS Apache RTR brand has its own job to do.

He said, "For us, it's too early to think beyond RTR. The brand is bigger than the product. If you see the demographic of our country, we are a young population and growing... it's an educated population and aspiration is on a high,"

He confirmed that the average monthly sales of the brand is 32,900 units and have grown around 20 percent in the last financial year.

Asked about BMW Motorrad making its maiden entry into the Indian market, he said, "This brand (BMW) is only going to grow the market. The job of both the brands put together is to grow the market first. Sports bike is there for everybody, but performance brand like we have in RTR is something that we believe in."

In the coming days, apart from the 313cc TVS Apache RR 310S, which might be positioned as a sports tourer, the company will be launching the fuel injected (FI) and ABS version of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V by the end of July 2017.
