Royal Enfield Himalayan FI Listed On Official Website — Launch Imminent?
The Royal Enfield is expected to launch the Himalayan with fuel injection (FI) in May 2017 with a price increase of around Rs. 10,000.
Royal Enfield has updated its official website confirming the fuel-injected Himalayan for India. The motorcycle with fuel injection is already on sale in the UK and the US.
The new fuel-injected Himalayan will meet the Bharat Stage 4 (BS 4) emission norms, and deliveries are expected from May 2017. Royal Enfield has updated its entire portfolio of bikes to BS 4 in keeping with the deadline of April 1, 2017.
The Indian model will not get ABS as a standard for now. However, we can expect the company to offer it as an option at a later date. The RE Himalayan was launched in India in February 2016 and came outfitted with a carburetted BS III compliant engine.
The fuel injected Himalayan is expected to offer linear power delivery along with smooth throttle response and better fuel combustion.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a 411cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine producing out 24.5bhp and 32Nm of torque. This motor is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan weighs at 182kgs, however, there is no update if there is any change in weight post the update.
