Parked Royal Enfield Classic 350 Goes Up In Flames — Another Hit For Royal Enfield?
Facebook user Sumit Mantri claims that his Royal Enfield Classic 350 was burnt to ashes when it was parked in his garage.
The incident goes as such, Facebook user Sumit Mantri claims that his Royal Enfield Classic 350 was burnt to ashes when it was parked in his garage, parked! The particular incident happened in Gauhati.
The image shows the wrecked Classic 350, completely burnt, and as per the owner, the motorcycle is just three months old. Sumit claims that he had ridden the motorcycle on June 9, for four kilometres and parked it in his garage.
Minutes later, he was informed that his beloved Royal Enfield Classic 350 was on fire. Shocked, the owner went down to investigate and could not believe his eyes. Firefighters had to be called in to douse the flames.
In spite of the mishap, Sumit was confident that he could sort out the issue with Royal Enfield and when he called the showroom to inform them, Sumit claims that the response was: "This would be a manufacturing/Royal Enfield issue if the fire would have started while the bike was running."
Sumit claims that if he was burnt or sustained injuries, Royal Enfield would have taken an initiative to look into the matter, but since it was only the motorcycle, the dealership instead asked Sumit to contact the insurance company.

In the recent past, a lot of issues have been highlighted about defective Royal Enfields. Be it from a broken chassis to a substandard motorcycle. It is high time Royal Enfield took a look into such incidents, ensuring existing customers and potential customers that the company is reliable and will support them.
In this particular incident above, what could have happened is an electrical issue that caused the motorcycle to go up in flames. Be it a manufacturing defect or not, it is the duty of the company or dealerships (as they represent the company) to take a look into the issue.
