Is This Next-Gen Honda CBR600RR?
A set of renders from a Japanese magazine hint at how the next Honda CBR600RR will look like.
Reports last year hinted that Honda was set to discontinue its 600cc sports bike, the CBR 600RR. However, a set of new renders and the growing popularity of mid-size bikes in Asia, now hint that a new Honda CBR 600RR could soon hit the roads from Japan.
Japan's Young Machine magazine, has released two renderings which it claims are inspired by the next-generation Honda CBR600RR.
One of the images shows off the new 600cc sports bike next to Honda's MotoGP bike for the road, the RC213V-S, from which it seems to have taken a few cues from.
The current Honda CBR600RR is powered by a 599cc in-line four cylinder engine that kicks out 118.35bhp @ 13,500rpm and 66Nm of torque @ 11,250rpm which is sent to the rear wheels through a close ratio six-speed gearbox. The current engine complies with Euro IV emission norms and the updated powerplant for the new CBR600RR is expected to meet Euro VI norms
The new Honda CBR600RR is expected to debut later this year at either the Tokyo Motor Show in late October or the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan in November 2017.
