Merzouga Rally 2017: Hero MotoSports And Sherco TVS Stage 2 Updates
The stage 2 of the Merzouga Rally has concluded and TVS Sherco rider Juan Pedrero moved up the leaderboard to fourth position in the overall standings.
The stage two of the Merzouga Rally 2017 saw riders cover a distance of 188km of racing against the clock. Sherco TVS rider Juan Pedrero made the most of the second stage and jumped from seventh to the fourth position in the overall standings.
Sherco TVS rider Pedrero finished the second stage in an impressive fourth place to move up the leaderboard. The stage 2 comprised of dunes, river bed crossing and tricky navigation sections.
Hero MotoSports Team rider Joaquim Rodrigues lost a bit of ground in the second stage. He lost time in finding a tricky waypoint and is in the eighth position on the overall leaderboard.
Indian rider CS Santosh showed improvement in the second stage and he rode with some solid pace to finish the day in 14th overall. Santosh said, "First real stage of Merzouga, and I was a bit nervous to start with."
He added, "My focus was to navigate well and not get lost because today's stage was quite a complex stage with a lot of navigation. I am happy that I was able to achieve that and gave myself a lot of confidence for tomorrow. All in all a very good day and I am looking forward to the upcoming stages."
TVS rider Abdul Wahid showed impressive pace in his first international rally. He outpaced his teammate Aravind KP in the second stage. Aravind KP is in 33rd overall, whereas Wahid is right behind him in 34th overall.
