MotoGP: Marc Marquez Sets The Pace In Post-Race Test At Barcelona
Honda rider topped the time sheets in the post-race test held at the Barcelona race track.
Reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez topped the timesheet in the post-race test in Barcelona. He outpaced Maverick Vinales in the dying minutes.
In the post-Catalunya Grand Prix test, Honda rider Marquez set the pace by beating Yamaha rider Vinales. Marquez moved from fifth to first in the last moments of the test session.
Yamaha factory racing team has a pair of frames to test during the two-day post-race testing in Barcelona. The team skipped the test session in Aragon and decided to remain at the Barcelona race track.
Tech3 Yamaha rider Jonas Folger finished in an impressive third place ahead of Honda rider Dani Pedrosa. Both the riders were separated by just nine-tenths of a second.
Aprilia rider Aleix Esparga set the fifth fastest time in the test session. He finished ahead of LCR Honda rider Cal Crutchlow. Folger's teammate Johann Zarco finished in the seventh position.
Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi was off the pace and managed to set the tenth fastest time. A good 1.2 seconds slower than the pace setter Marquez. Suzuki had three bikes on the track with rookie Alex Rins returning from his wrist injury.
Today, Suzuki will join Yamaha to test at the Barcelona race track. Austrian squad KTM will also test their bikes till Wednesday. But Bradley Smith is out due to a finger injury.
