KTM Invests In Nuviz, A Head-Up Display Company
KTM and Husqvarna could soon have connected motorcycle technology since KTM has invested in Nuviz, a Head-Up Display company.
Pierer Industrie AG, the company that owns KTM, Husqvarna, WP Suspension, and others has invested in Nuviz, a company that makes Head-Up Displays (HUDs).
The investment, being a boon to Nuviz, the company expects to have a HUD unit in the market by the first half of 2017 itself, along with a connected rider system.
The San Diego-based technology startup has raised around $5 million through equity and debt, while sources suggest that KTM's investment is the biggest — around $5 million.
Malte Laass, the Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Nuviz says, "This strategic investment is very exciting for NUVIZ as it is a testament to our technology leadership in the HUD and connected riding space, and further emphasizes the demand and need for the user experiences we have set out to create."
This particular move of investing in Nuviz could be an advantage for KTM and Husqvarna because it gives both motorcycle companies a shot at motorcycle HUDs and connected motorcycle system, well before competition.
KTM is taking giant steps in terms of technology and motorcycles, like the 2017 Super Duke 1290 R for example, featured in the image gallery below.
