KTM Duke 250 And RC 250 Will Not Come To India
KTM has recently launched then 2017 RC 390 and RC 200 in the Indian market. But the manufacturer has no plans to launch the Duke 250 and RC 250 in India.
Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM recently launched the 2017 range of its fully faired motorcycles, the RC 390 and RC 200 in India. The company is now all set to launch the new breed of Dukes in the country.
It was believed that KTM will also launch the Duke 250 and RC 250 in the Indian market, but it seems like the manufacturer has no such plans, instead KTM is going to launch the adventure avatar of the Duke 390 in India.
The main reason for this is, the development costs for the Duke 250 and RC 250 are higher compared to its 200cc siblings. Even if KTM decides to launch the 250cc twins, then they will be expensive and it will hamper the sales of the 390cc Duke and RC.
The Duke 250 and RC 250 are based on the 390cc platform. The motorcycle also gets performance parts such as forged piston and NikaSil coating which will further increase the price of the motorcycle. Hence it makes sense for KTM to not to launch the 250cc Duke and RC in India.
The KTM Duke 250 and RC 250 draws power from a 249cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine producing 31bhp of power and 24Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The 2017 Duke 250 features bifurcated LED headlamps similar to the Duke 390 and Duke 200. The 250cc motorcycle shares its design cues from its elder sibling, the Super Duke 1290.
Whereas the new RC 250 is yet to be revealed. It is expected that the new fully faired 250cc motorcycle will make its debut at the 2017 EICMA show in November 2017.
