Scoop: 2017 KTM Duke 200 Not Coming To India?
Reports suggest that the new 2017 KTM Duke 200 will not be launched in India, instead, KTM will only update colours and graphics.
The 2017 KTM Duke 200 and the 390 have enthusiasts sitting on the edge of their chairs, eagerly awaiting for the launch to take place. While all seems okay, there is a bit of bad news for those eyeing the Duke 200.
According to reports, KTM will not be launching the updated, 2017 Duke 200 in India. Instead, the company will retain the same model, with a few cosmetic changes such as colour options and graphics.
The Duke 390 however, will be launched. The 2017 Duke 390 gets a host of changes from design to mechanical bits. Design changes include a bigger, redesigned fuel tank, new headlights, exhaust, and graphics among others.
Mechanical changes will include a new ride-by-wire throttle technology, adjustable levers, bigger disc rotor up front, an TFT instrument display, and most importantly, a Euro 4 compliant engine.
One of the major reasons for KTM to do so could be to keep costs under check. Also, KTM has already added the 2017 Duke 390 to the Indian website and not the 200.
The Duke 200 is powered by a 199cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 25bhp, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The Duke 200 will continue to get disc brakes at both ends and a USD front fork.
