The KTM 1290 Super Duke R has set a new record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race.
The KTM 1290 Super Duke R has set a new record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race. Chris Fillmore was riding Super Duke R in the Heavyweight Motorcycle class.
The KTM 1290 Super Duke R was customised with readily available KTM Powerparts. Chris crossed the finish line in 9 minutes and 49.626 seconds at the 19.99km Colorado Springs closed road hill climb circuit.
Fillmore is a former AMA Superbike racer and a rookie when it comes to the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. He stated that riding at the Pikes Peak was an emotional and humbling experience.
The KTM 1290 Super Duke R is a mean machine in the Austrian manufacturer's line up. It is heavily updated in its 2017 avatar. The motorcycle draws power from a 1,301cc engine pumping out 177bhp and 141Nm o torque.
