2017 Kawasaki Z1000 And Z1000 R Edition launched in India. The new Z1000 gets ECU updates along with a reworked suspension setup.
2017 Kawasaki Z1000 And Z1000 R Edition Launched In India. The new Kawasaki Z1000 is priced at Rs 14.49 lakh while the 2017 Z1000 R Edition has a price tag of Rs 15.49 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Kawasaki Z1000 is powered by a 1,043cc, four-cylinder engine that produces 140bhp @ 10,000rpm and 111Nm of torque @ 7,300rpm. The engine sends the power to the rear wheel through a 6-speed gearbox.
The 2017 edition of the Z1000 features a revised ECU setup which allows for a smoother delivery of power and combined with a new evaporator system and revisions to the main and pre-catalysers means that the new Z1000 is compliant with Euro-IV and BS-IV emission norms.
The new Kawasaki Z1000 features a suppler suspension setup thanks to revised front fork setup along with increased travel for the rear suspension (up 13mm to 135mm). The increased travel at the rear is thanks to a modified linkage ratio. The brake pads for the rear brakes have also been revised for improved brake feel.
Other features on the new 2017 Kawasaki Z1000 include a 5-way adjustable clutch lever, gear position indicator and a new shift up indicator, that advises riders when to shift up a gear.
New for 2017 is the new Z1000 R Edition. This Z1000 R Edition adds a set of 310mm Brembo stainless steel brakes which feature lateral grooves for improved heat dissipation, and are gripped by a pair of Brembo M50 monobloc callipers.
Providing brake fluid to the new front discs are a set of stainless steel braided brake lines for improved performance and consistency. The rear brake is a 250mm single disc unit.
The Z1000R Edition features a new Öhlins S46DR1S, fully adjustable shock absorber at the rear with remote preload adjuster. The front suspension's hardware remains the same, however, Kawasaki claims that the settings have been revised to ensure it matches the rear Ohlins' action.
The 2017 Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition comes with its own paint scheme which comes with vivid green and yellow graphics along with a new seat with the R logo embossed on it.
The Z1000 is available in two different colour options: Metallic Spark Black and Golden Blazed Green while the R Edition also sports two colour schemes: Metallic Spark Black and Metallic Graphite Gray.
