Presenting ‘Indori’ And ‘Loopy’ From KR Customs
Indori and Loopy are two custom built Royal Enfields by KR Customs, a Chennai-based firm. Here’s more details.
KR Customs, a Chennai-based firm owned by Krish Rajan, an IT employee, has built two custom Royal Enfields, called 'Indori' and 'Loopy'.
As Krish recalls, "Having been a rider and an enthusiast all my life, I remember my first ride going all the way back to when I was just eight years old. Over the years, the passion for ‘all things bike' continued, but life got in the way, moved to the US as a student, and after graduating from University of Toledo with a master's degree in Applied Math, decided to work in the IT field."
Krish says his first project was a Bobber, based out of a Classic 500 Desert Storm, called ‘Indori', named after the city he grew up in. The project was a success, and Krish says that the build was a great learning experience and made him believe in himself that he could build motorcycles.
For the second project, the idea came from a particular person in Krish's life, and the build had to be special. To make something unique, Krish wanted to do a ground-up build, and a Bobber was immediately ruled out, and so was a Scrambler.
There was one option left - a Cafe Racer, and to do so, the search began for a donor bike. Krish eventually found one, his cousin's Continental GT. The motorcycle was immediately stripped to the frame, and after days of trying to come up with an idea, an old, modified Vincent set Krish going.
The rear suspension is what caught Krish's attention, and using the stock shocks of the Continental GT with some modifications, ‘Loopy' started taking shape. The front end is from a KTM Duke 200, while bits from other motorcycles were used too.
For Loopy, Krish came up with a 3-point pivot system for the rear suspension, the rear sub-frame was shortened, and the seat was a hand stitched workmanship done by a local seat maker. Other details like LED back lights, Pirelli Sport Demon tyres, and a custom exhaust complete the motorcycle.
If custom motorcycles are your favourite, then the Triumph Bonneville Scrambler pictured below could interest you.
