India Yamaha Motor Sales Up 32% In December 2016

a
growth
of
32%
in
domestic
sales
(including
Nepal)
in
2016.
The
manufacturer
sold
7.86
lakh
units
in
2016
units
compared
to
5.94
lakh
unit
is
2015.
By registering this massive growth, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese manufacturer has strengthened its position in the Indian market with its innovative technology, ongoing customer-centric activities and exciting product line-ups.
2016 was a huge year for Yamaha, as it launched the naked street bike MT-09 and the commuter Saluto RX were launched in April. Under the gearless scooter category, the manufacturer added the Cygnus Ray ZR in the same month.
Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, "The year 2016 has been a landmark year. Yamaha as a company managed to perform strongly in all aspects and maintained a steady sales growth across the year.
"This year Yamaha crossed one lakh sales figure first in India consecutively in two months (Sept & Oct). The continuous growth numbers are a sign of Yamaha's robust business plans and strategic customer engagement programs.
"The New Year holds tremendous opportunity for further growth as Yamaha will enhance its product portfolio with the launch of new and exciting models and will intensify its network expansion plan across the country. As a young brand fostering style and excitement along with innovation, Yamaha will continue to grow with a target of achieving 1 million sales in 2017."
